Life Before Outlaw
Bridget D’Alesio, 64, has been retired for the past nine years. Her days are filled with caring for her 86-year-old mother—helping her around the house, running errands, going to doctor’s appointments. But she always made time for lunch, dinner, or coffee with friends and family. Still, she felt something was missing.
“Walking was really the only physical activity I did every day,” she says. “My chiropractor had been suggesting for a while that I add weight training into my routine.”
A Chance Click That Changed Everything
One day, scrolling on Facebook, Bridget saw a post about Outlaw North’s Legends Program. The idea of a gym-based program designed for people her age caught her attention.
“I wanted something that would hold me accountable,” she explains. “Because if I was paying for it, I knew I’d show up.”
A Community That Cares
From her very first class, Bridget felt something special.
“I felt like I belonged,” she says. “People said hi, wished me a good workout—there was no judgment, even though I was doing things at my own pace.”
That sense of community became just as important as the workouts themselves. The encouragement, support, and smiles were consistent reminders that she was in the right place.
Real Results, Inside and Out
Bridget didn’t need a scale to tell her something was working.
“I’ve gained muscle, and someone in class even mentioned that my posture has changed. I used to slouch, but now I stand tall.”
Even more impressive? She’s only missed one class since she joined. “I’m challenging myself, and I’ve found something I truly enjoy. I think about my sons when I work out—they’re really into fitness, and they inspire me to keep going.”
Strength You Can See—and Feel
Last fall, Bridget got news that could’ve been scary: a heart ultrasound showed some plaque buildup in one of her arteries. Her cardiologist was initially unsure about her ‘doing CrossFit’, not really understanding what Bridget was actually doing.
“But I explained the Legends Program is designed to be appropriate to our individual abilities and limitations, and it’s safe,” Bridget says. “Now, after two checkups, she tells me my heart is strong and my blood work is great. She even calls me ‘my CrossFit girl’ and tells me to keep doing what I’m doing.”

More Than Just Workouts
For Bridget, the benefits go beyond physical health.
“I have more energy, more confidence, and my circle of friends has grown. The social side of the gym—before, during, and after class—is just as valuable as the workouts themselves. Andrea and the whole Legends crew are the best.”
“Just Keep Showing Up”
When asked what she’d say to someone who’s unsure about starting, Bridget doesn’t hesitate.
“If someone had told me I’d be doing CrossFit at 64, I would’ve said they were crazy. But now, I’ve seen nothing but positive results. I focus on doing the movements properly—and yeah, I feel it the next day, but it’s worth it.”
Her motto?
“I didn’t come this far to only get this far. So I just keep showing up.”
