Spencer’s transformation has been more than just dropping 30lbs and getting stronger.
🔥 The Mission: Becoming Fit for Fire
For this Outlaw North athlete, fitness wasn’t just about looking good—it was about preparing for a calling. A Volunteer Firefighter and City of Hamilton employee in the Cemeteries Division, he had his sights set on one thing: becoming a full-time firefighter.
That meant stepping up. Big time.
“I was strong,” he explains, “but I knew my overall fitness wasn’t where it needed to be. After going through recruit class, it became crystal clear that if I wanted to succeed in this field, I had to train harder, smarter, and more consistently.”
🧨 The Wake-Up Call: “You’re in the Right Place”
Spencer joined Outlaw North in late 2021 and the shift was immediate.
“I remember looking around and realizing everyone was doing movements that wowed me. They were leaner, faster, more conditioned—and it hit me: I was in the right place. I had no choice but to get better.”
At first, he scaled everything. The weights, the movements, the intensity—it all felt out of reach. But he kept showing up.
Then came the turning point.
“I started levelling up my workouts- gradually working in more challenging skills and pushing the strength work up. That was a huge moment. It was proof that I was making real progress.”

💪 The Transformation: Weight Down, Strength Up, Mind Sharper
Now in 2025, his transformation is more than physical—it’s a complete evolution.
He’s dropped 25–30 pounds. His strength? Still there, maybe even better than before. He’s moving closer to the weight he carried back in high school—but with far more power and confidence.
“Losing weight without sacrificing strength has been a revelation. I didn’t think that was possible before.”
But it’s not just about the gym. The discipline, effort, and “no quit” attitude he’s built at Outlaw have spilled into every part of his life.
“It’s made me feel more prepared—mentally and physically—for a full-time fire career.”
🔑 The Takeaway: Show Up and Level Up
If you ask him what makes Outlaw different, he won’t just talk about the weights or the programming.
“Outlaw is a rare gym—you really can have it all. You can get stronger, faster, leaner. You’ll hit goals you never thought possible… and always find something new to chase.”
His advice?
“Consistency is key. Just show up. If you do, the results will follow.”
