Meagan’s Story: You Can Do Hard Things — Inside and Out of the Gym

When she first joined Outlaw in 2022, it wasn’t with a barbell in hand — it was with a baby on her hip.

A former retail store manager turned territory sales rep for Benjamin Moore, her day-to-day looks a lot different now. “Much less physical, a lot more sitting and time behind the wheel,” she says. And in the middle of that life shift — she made space for herself.

“I’m so grateful I had done all the groundwork previously to get my routine in place or my health would have taken a backseat during this transition.”

It started with the Dumbbells & Diapers program. Then Mom Strong. Then a return last May that landed her in the 4:30 class — where something clicked.

“I didn’t even recognize myself postpartum.”

The reason for starting was simple: she wanted to feel like herself again.

“I gained a significant amount of weight during pregnancy and just wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin again.”

And while the Mom programs laid the foundation — it was joining regular classes, increasing intensity, and finding a rhythm that made everything start to shift. Today, she’s 21 weeks pregnant and feeling great: “Physically and mentally, Outlaw has made all the difference.”

From ‘I hope this works’ to first pull-ups and a 200 lb deadlift

Her first impression? The moms.

“Loving the community of moms all at the same stage with little ones — these are still some of my closest friends 3 years later. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”

The first major win? When clothes she thought would never fit again suddenly did.

“And then there was Murph in May. The training leading up to it was hard, but it felt amazing to know I did my absolute best that day.”

“I didn’t think I was capable of the job I just got.”

That confidence in the gym didn’t stay there — it followed her into work, into her new role, and into her own self-worth.

“I was terrified when I joined to meet new people and dive into a group I didn’t know, and now looking back it is hilarious. I’ve never met a more encouraging, supportive and intentional group of people in my life.”

That confidence has led to professional wins too. “I didn’t think I was capable a few years ago of the job I just got — and I think a lot of that stems from ‘you can do hard things.’ Inside and outside of the gym.”

Her advice for someone in the thick of it?

Let yourself be uncomfortable.

“It’s where the most growth will stem from. Do it tired, do it when it’s not the easy choice — you won’t regret it.”
